WHO: To help these hungry children meet the basic need for food when school meals are unavailable, we have initiated the Back the Pack program.

WHERE: Schools being served: Madison.Elementary School, Jefferson Elementary School, Nightingale and Trinity Elementary Schools.

WHAT: Back the Pack is providing healthy snacks for over 260 children per week. Over 9109 packs were provided for the 2013-2014 school year. We anticipate providing 9,100 packs for the 2014-2015 school year.

WHY: In addition. to providing food for these children, the Back the Pack program empowers our children with the nutrition they need for academic success.

HOW: The Back the Pack program provides healthy, hearty snacks for children in need. Food items are placed discretely in the backpacks every Friday. Breakfast bars, sandwich crackers, fruit cups and raisins are some items that could be included in their packs.

Back the Pack is totally supported by. donations, and there are NO administrative costs associated with this program.
